In this ever changing world new people are coming up with new ideas on whether it is possible to make Archos
Plugins for free. More and more people are cracking open the system's of their Archos device to get a feel
for the operating system - and maybe in the future create their own games and plugins.
I think what's really important when looking at Archos Plugins is the 'free' aspect, for example, a free plugin
being delivered en masse to large numbers of people. For me that's really important. Why? Well
for the past decade or so I've grown up getting everything I want online for free. Actually buying into
e-commerce such as buying programmes online is for.. chumps. Are you a chump?
For a lot of young people it's just a way of life, you go onto limewire or a torrent website and download what
you want. It tends to be people such as teenagers that don't have the money do purchase the items in the
first place. Many don't see it as stealing at all because they're taking what they otherwise couldn't
take. It's not as if they have the money and are specifically not paying, but they wouldn't have bought it
anyone - so them downloading it isn't hurting anybody. That's their logic anyway.
But for me, free archos plugins are more a matter of principle - I shouldn't be forced into buying something to
make parts of my machine work. I don't see wifi for the Archos 604 wifi as a bonus - I see it as a necessity
- I mean it's in the name for God's sake!
I think it's really important that the clarity of Archos is improved, and that they can make clear to other's
that the 'box' price isn't really the overall price at all. That other costs may not 'possibly' be involved,
but almost certainly will - this is what is called one of the Main
